Learning outcomes
As part of the teaching of "Educational Psychology: Applications and Interventions in School Psychology" the course will
aims to explore Media Education as a discipline that promotes in individuals "the ability to access, analyse, evaluate and produce messages in all formats of media communication", according to the definition proposed by Patricia Aufderheide in the context of the National Leadership Conference on Media Literacy. In addition, the topic of how to deal with misinformation and prevention strategies will be addressed.
The course will be divided into two parts: the first, theoretical and introductory, will present the main theories relating to media literacy, comparing experiences in Europe and Italy; the second, laboratory (4 meetings of 3 hours), aims to give students the technical basis and strategies for the creation of audio/video productions to support prebunking to be proposed in school contexts to raise awareness of the risks of uninformed use of the media, especially in the context of social media.
Lectures and workshops will be held by professors from the University of Pavia and expert staff from the Pavia Media Education Centre.

The course will be divided into two parts:

The lessons will be in the presence (except for any new indications due to the health situation) and guaranteed the use of the material relating to the lessons and consult the slides or other teaching material from the KIRO university platform

Assessment methods
There are no exams but an assessment of eligibility. Participation will allow you to achieve eligibility based on attendance and assessed the production of a multimedia product, as part of the workshops
