Prerequisites
Basic psychodynamic skills obtained through the attainment of the three-year degree
Learning outcomes
Acquire knowledge about the theoretical-clinical models of W.R. Bion and the post-Kleinian school, with particular attention to the process of development of thought in the "normal" mind and in the one where a "psychotic" mode of functioning prevails. The course, divided into a first part centered on Grinberg's explanatory text which provides an overview of the fundamental Bionian concepts and in a second part with anthological guided readings of texts by various authors, aims to accustom the student to develop abilities, on the one hand, of critical synthesis on the subject and, on the other hand, of knowing how to move autonomously in the approach to the original texts. The acquired skills should allow a better knowledge of the psychopathology of border-line areas and psychosis and also provide tools for approaching the world of child psychopathology through the method of Infant Observation.
Course contents
The course is aimed at students who have already acquired the basic knowledge in the psychodynamic field during the three-year course. Maintaining the approach mainly aimed at highlighting the historical-evolutionary succession of metapsychology and clinical theory, its purpose is the deepening of a post-Freudian psychoanalytic path, through the study of the thought of WR. Bion and some Authors of Kleinian matrix (Bick, Brenman, Joseph, Ogden, Rosenfeld, Segal, Steiner), up to recent reflections starting from the Infant Observation.
