Prerequisites
Basic Knowledge of general psychology, mainly perception and memory and neuropsychology.
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to be able to understand the current research in the field of psychology of emotions: an historical excursus of the main theories will be presented that will allow to understand the recent acquisitions from an evolutionary, social and clinical point of view. Communication processes will also be analyzed at both interpersonal, group and institutional levels.
Course contents
It includes a general theoretical part and some insights about emotions and development, emotions and ethnopsychiatry, emotions and health, emotions and trauma.

- The main historical traditions in the study of emotions;
- Theories of emotions;
- Theories relating to specific emotions;
- The regulation of emotions;
- Facial expressions and emotions;
- Neurological basis of emotions;

- Emotions and development
Teaching methods
Blended modality: teaching for small groups (6 hours) and on line lessons.

Assessment methods
The exam will be written with multiple choice questions and three open questions.
