Prerequisites
It is essential for students taking this course to have knowledge of the main stages of typical development.
Learning outcomes
The main objective of the course is to provide students with a grid for the psychopathological diagnosis in developmental age (from early childhood to adolescence). Students will be sensitised to distinguish between a descriptive diagnosis (according to the 0-3 and DSM 5 TR classifications) and a more structural level of diagnosis in line with the psychodynamic-psychoanalytical approach. Students should be able to make a diagnostic framework and outline the main lines of therapeutic intervention.
Course contents
The discipline of developmental psychopathology will be introduced, its historical genesis in the psychopathological field and the main existing reference models. The main diagnostic tools available to the clinician will be described, in order to enable the student to choose the most appropriate assessment tools (depending on the clinical case and its age) in the context of clinical activity. A short monographic part will be devoted to eating disorders in childhood and adolescence. The discussion of a series of clinical cases will also be proposed, through which the students' acquisitions on diagnosis and therapeutic intervention appropriate to the situation of the particular case will be brought into play at a more operational level.
Teaching methods
The course will take place in the classroom in presential form through lectures at the University at the times established and transmitted to the students. However, students will have the opportunity to consult the videotaped lessons of last year's course, which are already available on the University of Pavia's google drive platform. Further details will be given at the beginning of the course.

Assessment methods
The examination is oral and, if possible, face-to-face.
