Prerequisites
The student must have adequate knowledge of neuropsychological cognitive psychotherapy.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student must be able to set up a first clinical psychological interview, also for the purpose of a correct descriptive and explicative psychodiagnosis.
Course contents
THEORETICAL PART
- The psychological interview and its main differences with other forms of individual interview;
- hermeneutics of the text (general theories);
- elements of semiotics of the text;
- narrative identity, individual history and horizons of expectation;
- the fractures of personal identity in life history;
- use and abuse of interpretation;
- the text-context cycle;
- question formulation strategies;
- response acceptance strategies;
- silence;
- communication, meaning and meanings;
- from the interview to the diagnosis;
- the refiguration.
CLINICAL-APPLICATION PART
-practical exercises on material brought by students;
-practical exercises of psychological interviews in groups;
-clinical examples on video-recorded material of first psychological interviews.
Teaching methods
Frontal lessons, group exercises, observation of first videotaped interviews. The course has a predominantly clinical-applicative nature, therefore most of the lessons include the description of a first real psychological interview, an accurate analysis of the diagnostic aspects and criticalities of the pathology / existential suffering presented by the patient, a description of the progress of the subsequent possible psychotherapeutic path.

Assessment methods
The first exam session consists in the simulation of a first interview, with the student in the role of the psychologist. An expert psychologist will simulate his own patient, and the student will have to demonstrate that he is able to practically apply the methodologies learned during the course.
The entire procedure will be implemented with the respect for privacy.
