Elements of English language for the reading of the scientific articles and basics of statistics (variance, correlation)
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will have learned:
what is meant by heritability; how to estimate genetic and environmental influences and to what extent mental disorders, cognitive capacity and psychological disorders are inheritable in developmental age; the impact of knowledge of genetics in understanding violent and criminal behavior.
Course contents
Introduction to behavioral genetics
The concept of heritability
How to estimate genetic and environmental influences.
Heritability of mental disorders and cognitive ability.
Heritability of Violent and Criminal Behavior.
Working group (inheritability of mental disorders, cognitive ability and antisocial behavior)
Teaching methods
Lectures.

(Students are randomly assigned into groups. Members of each group are asked to carry out literature searches, read articles and present what they have learned)
