Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of ionizing radiations
Learning outcomes
Provide basic knowledge on the radiation protection of the population and health workers and of the risks associated with the use of ionizing radiation in subjects in developmental age with particular regard to the odontostomatological diagnostic field.
Course contents
Interactions of ionizing radiation - matter
Stochastic and deterministic effects
Principles of justification and optimization.
Elements of radiation protection for the patient and healthcare personnel.
Definition of the professional figures involved in the light of current legislation.
Classification of working areas and workers.
