Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic scientific sciences: mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, physiology, anatomy, histology, history of dentistry.
Learning outcomes
Skill about the study of dental materials and their most appropriate selection from the market as far as their safety for the patient and for the operators.
Course contents
Regulation, standard, standardization institutes, CE mark, directive 93/42 UE exc., custom made devices. Biocompatibility, interactions between tissues and materials, biocompatibility tests. General features of Materials and, in details, all the products' families. Finally the materials for the prophylaxis: bleaching, dental hygiene and preventive dentistry.
