Elements of Cytology (meiosis and mitosis). Concept of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organism, autotrophic and heterotrophic
Students will have to acquire the basic concepts of general and applied mycology. They will have general knowledge about taxonomy and fungal ecology and be able to recognize the main groups by microscopic analysis. Practical laboratory activities are organized for this last aspect .

Biological and ecological characteristics of fungi
Asexual and sexual reproduction
Microsporidia, Chitridiomycetes, Zygomycetes, Glomeromycetes
Ascomycetes - ascomycetous yeasts.
Basidiomycetes - basidiomicetous yeasts
Symbiosis between fungi and autotrophyc organisms, and fungi and animals
Fermentation & degradation of lignocellulosic compounds
Final summary & exam preparation
lectures and practical activities in equipped classrooms. There are written preparation monitoring tests with open questions and questions with multiple answers.
