Prerequisites
Have basic notions acquired during the courses of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Sport, Human Anatomy and Human Physiology, essential to understand some topics covered in the General Pharmacology course. To take the exam, it is mandatory to have passed the Human Physiology exam.
Learning outcomes
The General Pharmacology course is aimed at acquiring the fundamental principles of the biological effects of drugs from the pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, pharmacometabolic and toxicological aspects. The main pharmacological classes used for therapeutic or doping purposes in sports will also be illustrated.
