ICAR/08 (CONSTRUCTION SCIENCE)
DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE
1st semester (27/09/2021 - 21/01/2022)
53 lesson hours
The course requires the knowledge of Structural Mechanics. Elements of Numerical Analysis and Programming are also important.
The course is intended primarily to provide the student with the necessary elements to complete the basic training in the discipline, only partially developed in the Bachelor's level. It also provides some additional content, with the goal of forming an Engineer with the basic structural skills and still able to properly deal with the most complex problems.
Elements of continuum mechanics
Advanced structural analysis
Automatic structural analysis by the finite element method
Plates and shells - Definitions and formulations
Tanks and pipes - Solutions for special cases
Lectures are provided in the classroom and exercises carried out directly by the students in the computer room, concerning the automatic structural analysis.
Reccomended or required readings
Copies of lecture slides will be distributed periodically to the students.
