Understand the processes of transferring research results to nursing practice;
Prepare critically for the identification of nursing questions that could generate research hypotheses.
Course contents
General knowledge of nursing research and its role in evidence-based practice
Quantitative Research: Phases of the Quantitative Research Process: Research Drawings used in Nursing; Describe the process that transforms a research problem into a research question;
Explain the differences between the definition of the problem and the definition of the purpose of the research;
Critically analyze problem definition and purpose definition in a research article
Describe the difference between dependent variable, independent variable, extraneous variable;
Describe the nursing research questions;
Describe the main study designs in relation to the research question;
Describe the hierarchy of scientific evidence in relation to the study design.

Assessment methods
Individual Written essay: Critical analysis of a scientific article in English, (chosen by the Student) through the use of Grid (Fain, 2004) provided by the teacher. The verification will consider the following points:
