Prerequisites

The student must have basic knowledge about different biological matrices that can be used to perform toxicological test. The student should know general information about the italian law system
Learning outcomes

The main aim of the course is to allow the student to learn general knowledge about the italian law in the field of forensic medicine and forensic toxicology. In particular the student will learn the meaning of crime, harm, responsibility, imputability, liability, civil and penal code
Course contents

The program of the course is the following:
1. The first part will focus on the description of the forensic toxicology field and forensic medicine, also through the discussion of real case reports
2. The second part will be devoted to the definition of terms related to the forensic science field, such as harm, responsibility, imputability, liability, homicide, injury, clinical records.
3. The third part will focus on the table of drugs of abuse and ethyl alcohol, with the description of the analysis in the context of driving under the influence and of workplace drug testing
Teaching methods

The course is organized through lectures which may, if necessary, be supplemented by practical exercises.

All the slides and the material utilized during the course will be provided to the students
Assessment methods

The exam will be provided either as an oral or through a multiple choice written test
