Prerequisites
Knowledge of the general outline of modern and contemporary history, which can be acquired also in parallel with the course.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will acquire some basic notions about the various historical forms of Christianity and will be able to navigate among the bibliographic tools and the most important internet sites for knowledge of the history of Christianity.
Course contents
The course provides the knowledge of the different forms of Christianity in modern and contemporary age, in particular institutional organization, legal and theological elaboration, spirituality, interaction between culture and faith, relationship with society and the Political power.
After an excursus dedicated to the formation of churches until to the sixteenth century, the course will deepen the history of the different confessions and Christian churches in the modern and contemporary age.
The course also provides the knowledge of the bibliographic tools and of the most important internet sites for the study of the history of Christianity.
Teaching methods
Lectures through audio and video recordings and
didactic material upload on the Kiro platform.
