The student should know general Pathology and Anatomy.
Learning outcomes
The goal of the integrated Course is to teach the in training Medical doctors the skin and plastic surgery related diseases: treatment limits and opportunities, direct treatment as a first aid and in emergency, patients driving to an adequate clinical specialistic pathway and helping the patients during the therapy.
Therefore the course is established to learn not only to the skin diseases but also the soft tissues surgical pathology.
Course contents
Plastic Surgery topics
Wound healing. Scars. Sutures. Skin grafts. Bioengineered skin substitutes. Not cutaneous grafts. Regenerative surgery. Transplants and flaps. Implants. Burns. Face and limbs tyrauma. Sores and difficult to heal wounds. Breast reconstruction. Skin rtumors. Congenital malformations. Hand surgery. Facial palsy. Cosmetic Surgery: generaaal principles and ethical committements; rhinoplasty, otoplasty, blepharoplasty, face lifting, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, abdominoplasty, liposurgery, cosmetic medicine procedures.
Teaching methods
traditional classes with projection of clinical images.
Theoretical parts of the Plastic Surgery lessons are uploaded on KIRO web portal a few days before each class, to let the students understand throughly the clinical presentations.

Assessment methods
Examination enrollments on line.
The examination consists in two different oral tests (Skin diseases and Plastic surgery) on all of the topics explained in the textbooks.
The two tests might be scheduled on different dates.
