Learning outcomes
The course aims to make the sixth year students (degree in Medicine and Surgery) aware of the basic topics of Forensic Medicine, in particular the essential knowledge to any non-specialist doctor in Forensic Medicine. The lessons will mainly focus on diagnosis and certification of death and post-death phenomena, elements of criminal and civil law and medical professional liability, and elements of criminal and civil procedure. Students will be educated on the principles of thanatology, which are essential for carrying out any specialty of the medical profession.
With regard to the forensic toxicological discipline, we want to describe in detail the concepts of poison and poisoning, pertinent to the most common cases of interest, especially in the interpretation of the results that must have administrative and medical-legal value.
