SCRITTO E ORALE CONGIUNTI
This course introduces students to a diverse array of theoretical and empirical issues related to the study of human emotion and its interaction with cognitive processes. Although cognition and emotion were classically thought to be two completely independent processes (both at the cognitive and neural level), recent advances in psychology and neuroscience contradict this notion. Recently, scientists have made considerable advances in understanding how cognitive and emotional systems interact in the human brain. Some questions the course addresses include: What are our emotions and what they are for? How do emotions influence and are influenced by our thoughts, memories, and behaviors? The course reviews the most relevant experimental evidence relative to this domain of study.
