The Course will provide a unifying framework for the processes of cell injury, inflammation, regeneration, repair, degenerative diseases and cancer, namely an evolutionary perspective of disease the disease process (comparative pathology). The Course will also offer 'in depth' discussion of model systems (cells, organ cultures, organisms) that have proved particularly valuable for the study of disease. Finally, the Course offers an in depth analysis of the molecular basis of disease and how these drive the disease process at the cellular, tissue and organ level.
