Prerequisiti
Basics of Management, and in particular of: business strategy, marketing, organizational design, accounting/finance.
Obiettivi formativi
The course aims at developing competences and skills for the management of innovation within organizations, including both startups and big companies.
After the course, the students will be capable of:
- design innovation strategies and learning organizations;
- stimulate, valuate and select high potential creative projects;
- analyze and develop an innovative business model;
- write agile business plans and make business experimentations (e.g. MVP; lean way).
Programma e contenuti
1) INTRODUCTION TO INNOVATION MANAGEMENT
- Key Concepts
- Mega-Trends and Emerging Technologies;
2) CREATING AN INNOVATION STRATEGY:
- innovation locus;
- open innovation;
- managing innovation portfolio;
- analyzing markets that don’t exit (yet);
3) DESIGNING THE INNOVATION SYSTEM:
- learning and creative organizations: discovering novel problems and solutions;
- uncertainty, ambiguity and Art & Science of selecting projects;
- business model innovation;
- manage innovation projects: business plan vs lean startup way;
- Equity Markets, M&A and Valuation of Innovative companies;
4) BUILDING AN INNOVATION CULTURE:
- the paradox of innovative cultures: it is not all fun and games;
- leaders as cultural architects;
- becoming a creative constructive leader.

Flipped classrooms, Interactive class, teamworks, case study-based lectures, “Univenture” business plan competition.

2) Book: “Creative Construction: the DNA of Sustained Innovation”, by Gary Pisano, ew York PublicAffairs (both attenders and non attenders)
Modalità verifica apprendimento
Attenders: written exam based on case studies and quick questions, plus teamwork and homeworks during lectures.
Non attenders: written exam, open questions based on above mentioned book (all chapters).
