PROVENZI LIVIO (titolare) - 6 ECTS

Knowledge of the basic principles of learning psychology is a valuable but not a mandatory prerequisite.

This course aims to provide students with [1] principles of learning psychology, integrating notions of neuroscience and genetics; and [2] insights into the implications of these concepts and processes for clinical practice and interventions.

The course is organized in 4 sections. Section 1 introduces the basic principles of learning psychology and specific learning disorders. Section 2 introduces aspects of prevention and rehabilitation of specific learning disorders. Both Section 1 and Section 2 provide for moments of clinical practice. Section 3 introduces the neurobiological features underlying learning disorders. Section 4 provides for the active involvement of students through interactive group workshops aimed at deepening the topics covered in the course and strengthening the skills of presentation and communication of scientific data.

Lectures and interactive discussions on scientific papers.

Suggested scientific papers will be signaled during the course.

The method of assessment is the oral examination. The content includes the material presented during the lessons (slides), the suggested bibliography, and the material presented during the interactive group workshops (cf. section 4 of the course).
