Learning outcomes
The schedule of this class on Information Processing Systems aims to supply the essential knowledge needed to better understand the importance of the datum and its management by means of electronic data-processing devices. These characteristics are very important mostly in the health-care sector where security, quality and conservation of data has to be taken into serious consideration.

Computerised database configuration of data and information;
Filing system concept - database;
Definitions of records, fields, formats;
Configuration of a database;
Relational database systems;
Datum quality within the database;
Web databases;
Exercises.
Teaching methods
The session is organised with classroom-taught lessons including practice exercises focused on the application of those given lectured theoretical concepts and the accomplishment of explanatory filing systems.
