Prerequisites
Principles of preventive medicine.
Learning outcomes
To acquire the knowledge of occupational and environmental medicine needed for the occupational therapist, especially in preventive optics and to facilitate the return to work after injury or occupational disease.
Course contents
General concepts of occupational and environmental medicine.
Main physical, chemical, biological and psycho-social risk factors. Related injuries and diseases.
In-depth study of occupational cancer (with particular regard to malignant mesothelioma) and work-related stress.
Teaching methods
Interactive front lessons.
Use of computerized didactic material prepared by the teacher.
Critical reading of scientific articles.
Possibility of practical training with outpatients.
