Learning outcomes
The aims of the course are: learning the physiopathological principles and management of diseases and syndrome commonly admitted in intensive care requiring vital organ support
Course contents
- Physiopathological features and management of circulatory shock (obstructive, cardiogenic and septic)
- Physiopathological features and management of patients with severe brain injury
- Physiopathological features and management of respiratory failure and non-invasive/invasive ventilation principles
- Central venous catheterization
- Blood gas analysis and acide-base balance
Teaching methods
Lessons in presence, with interaction with students, particularly when clinical cases are discussed (case discussion)
