Prerequisites
A language proficiency at or above the level of B1+ according to the European Framework of Reference
Learning outcomes
1. Reach the so-called Level B2 of the European Framework of Reference, i.e., the level of "independent user". The
student should be able to use the main structures of the language with confidence, own a wide range of vocabulary and
use appropriate communication strategies in a variety of social situations;
2. Acquire and use independently the basic technical and scientific vocabulary in Biology. The students must
demonstrate that they know how to read and understand scientific texts of various types using the techniques of
skimming and scanning. The students must also be able to write short reports, articles and compositions of a scientific
nature.
