Learning outcomes
The course of Oncology aims to provide the student with the essential notions for an overall evaluation of the diagnostic and therapeutic path of the cancer patient, with focus on neoplasms and complications of treatments in the fields of otolaryngology and gastrointestinal tract.
Course contents
Epidemiology, risk factors and primary and secondary prevention.
General diagnostic and therapeutic approach (medical therapy, radiotherapy and oncological surgery).
Main acute and late side effects of medical treatments, with reference to otolaryngeal and gastrointestinal tracts.
Multidisciplinary path of the cancer patient.
