Prerequisites
Know the main pathologies of the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity; the indications for the choice of the flaps, the suture technique, the radiological diagnosis.
Learning outcomes
Ability to set up a diagnostic plan in oral surgery, to propose alternative therapeutic solutions and plans, taking into account local clinical conditions, general health, indications and contraindications. Knowing how to communicate with the patient to obtain valid informed consent. Knowing how to set up an adequate flap, adequate suture systems, choose between conservative and demolition interventions. Knowing how to deepen the diagnosis, manage intra and postoperative complications. Knowing how to diagnose and manage nerve injuries. Know the peculiarities of pedodontic surgery.
Course contents
surgical intervention techniques: benign soft tissue tumors;
cystotomies and cystectomies
avulsion of included elements and germectomies
avulsion of octaves inclusive, treatment of disodontiasis
disinclusion of included elements
abscesses and phlegmon in dentistry: drug treatment and surgical treatment
surgical approach in children: indications for general anesthesia
pediatric surgery techniques: orthodontic disinclusions, follicular and mucous cysts
frenectomy, benign bone tumors,
post-traumatic and intentional dental reimplants: patient timing, doctor's timing
benign tumors of the maxillary bones, odontomas surgical techniques: closure of the oro-antral communications
indications for pre-prosthetic surgery
frenulum and bridle surgery
hard tissue surgery, bone regularization; guided regeneration, management of complications in special odontostomatological surgery postoperative management in special odontostomatological surgery
