Prerequisites
The student must know the basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and
biomechemistry.
Learning outcomes
Aims of the course are to teach the basic principles of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, to describe the organization of the relevant facilities and of the interprofessional team. The student will learn to evaluate and treat some diseases frequently causing disability and requiring rehabilitation.
Course contents
Clinical and diagnostic assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of the following diseases:
- facial paralysis;
- pathologies of cervical spine;
- pathologies of lumbar spine;
- spinal cord injury;
- stroke;
- parkinson disease;
- multiple sclerosis;
Teaching methods
The course is based on lectures given with PowerPoint presentations,
projected on screen.
At the end of the lesson, questions and discussion are encouraged.

Assessment methods
Written exam made of 15 questions with multiple choice. The global score ranges from 0 to 30.
