Prerequisites
It would be advisable to have previously attended the course of Psychology of the Organizations.
Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide a theoretical and practical framework for the work-related stress. During the course, theoretical-scientific elements will be provided, and organizational case studies will be presented and discussed. Particular attention will be given to the discussion and application of work-related stress evaluation methodologies and methods as well as planning of interventions. More specifically, students will have the opportunity to learn how to plan work-related stress evaluation interventions and how to utilize specific evaluation measurements through practical exercises.
Course contents
⁃ Work-related stress: understanding of the phenomenon and importance of its evaluation
⁃ The evaluation of work-related stress risk factors in organizations: the INAIL methodology and its phases.
⁃ The identification of homogeneous groups of workers.
⁃ The use of checklist and the detection of sentinel events.
⁃ Main evaluation instruments: questionnaires, interviews and focus groups in the organizational context.
⁃ An alternative work-related stress evaluation method: the START method.
⁃ Planning, implementation and evaluation of corrective and preventive interventions.
Teaching methods
The different topics of this course will be addressed interactively using the presentation and discussion of organizational case studies, the application of evaluation instruments and the planning of interventions through practical guided exercises.

Various materials, including slides and handouts, will be provided during the lessons.
Assessment methods
The exam includes an individual written test with close-ended answers and the resolution of a business case (in small groups).
